Recent topics.

Is there a way to increase the number of "recent topics" shown? Since it only shows five, I think many posts get buried quickly and go unnoticed. If the number were user-configurable, that would be awesome. Is this possible?
This has bothered me before, but discovering that this post had gone unnoticed for several days prompted me to make this request.

Personally, I think somewhere around 15 would work well.
Actually, I had never paid attention to the View New Content link before (probably because it's right next to the stupid RSS icon). So if you can't change it, I will be satisfied using that too.
The first time I attempted to write this edit, I was spontaneously logged out of Ubuntu. I might have hit something on the keyboard while I was typing, but why the hell can an accidental keystroke instantly log you out? Good thing I didn't have any other unsaved work.
